KEKELIVA AGROECOLOGICAL FARM
KEKELIVA agroecological school farm, established by WEP-TOGO, serves as a practical training hub for rural women in sustainable agriculture and climate resilience

KEKELIVA agroecological school farm was established by WEP-TOGO in February 2020, with support from the French Embassy in Togo and the La France s’Engage Foundation, to strengthen the resilience of women and youth in agricultural sector through:
Support and training on best practices for climate change adaptation and sustainable management of natural resources (land and forests);
Training on hygiene and quality standards for processing agricultural products, as well as marketing techniques and sales of processed goods;
Training in cooperative and entrepreneurial management.
Covering 5 hectares, KEKELIVA offers several hands-on training workshops, including compost production, mulching and agroforestry, climate-resilient farming techniques, small livestock and poultry farming, mushroom cultivation, agroforestry and forest seedling production, improved carbonization, and processing of agricultural and non-timber forest products in line with hygiene and quality standards.

To date, over 520 women farmers from the Maritime and Plateaux regions have been trained in sustainable land and forest management practices. These efforts have enabled them to ecologically restore 72 hectares of farmland, increase agricultural yields, improve market access, and boost their income by 40%. KEKELIVA has also hosted 25 agronomy students from INFA-Tové and University of Kara for practical internships.
